Your details, with care.

We use the details you share to manage your reader account, deliver the newsletter you request or respond to a partnership inquiry. Reading our articles does not require an account.

Reader accounts and optional profiles

If you create a reader account, we store your verified email address and any optional profile details you choose to provide: name, company, role, industry, country where you are based, markets followed and topic interests. You can skip these fields or edit them in My profile. These details help us understand our readership, segment audiences and plan future editorial coverage. They do not currently personalise the articles you see or filter newsletter delivery. We do not sell your profile or give advertisers identifiable reader details.

We use a dedicated, self-hosted Supabase Auth service to verify your email identity. Account identities are stored in its private PostgreSQL database; profile details and session records are stored with the site's hosting provider. These systems are accessible only through private services. Resend processes your recipient address and sign-in email content to deliver email links.

We use essential cookies for pending email verification and your reader session. Verification links expire after 15 minutes and must be opened in the browser where you requested them. Sessions last up to 30 days and expire after 7 days without activity. You can sign out through navigation or sign out all devices from your profile. Your email address cannot be changed through the profile page.

Creating an account does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Newsletter consent is a separate action that requires its own email confirmation; withdrawing newsletter consent does not remove your reader account.

Newsletter subscriptions

If you subscribe to The MENA Current Brief, we store your email address, optional first name, subscription status and a record of your consent and confirmation. We use this information to send MENA Current business-news emails after you confirm your subscription.

Subscription records are stored with the site's hosting provider and available only through our private editorial systems. We use Resend to deliver confirmation messages and newsletter emails. Resend processes the recipient address and email content, and sends delivery, bounce and complaint events that help us manage reliable delivery and prevent further unwanted emails.

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Withdrawing stops future newsletter dispatches to your address; messages already accepted for sending may still arrive. We keep a record of withdrawal or suppression to respect your choice. Subscribing again requires fresh confirmation. We do not sell subscriber details.

Partnership inquiries

If you send a partnership inquiry, we store your name, work email, company and message so we can respond and discuss a possible partnership. This information is stored with the site's hosting provider and available to the site owner. We do not sell inquiry details.
